Vusi has taught African culture and identity in prisons, community centres, universities and on the street corner (a venue was booked but the group weren't allowed to enter at the last minute. The audience wanted the talk anyway). He has spoken at national and international conferences including keynote speeches. He has made numerous television and radio broadcasts, published papers and written newspaper articles. Currently Vusi is researching issues of cultural oppression and harmony in fashion. The research explores notions of beauty, style and taste across European and African cultures using the dancehall as a medium. The outcome (expected 2005) will be a collection of garments. |
